What Is the GCA Framework?
The Government Commercial Agency (GCA) Supply Teachers and Education Recruitment Framework (RM6376) is the Department for Education's approved procurement framework for recruiting temporary, fixed-term and permanent education staff.
The framework allows schools and academy trusts to recruit through agencies that have already demonstrated high standards of safeguarding, compliance, quality and value for money.

Why Does This Matter to Teachers?
From September 2026, single and multi-academy trusts are expected to procure agency supply staff through the GCA Framework, making approved suppliers an increasingly important route for schools seeking temporary and permanent education staff. Local authority maintained schools can also choose to use the framework.
That means many schools will increasingly recruit through GCA-approved agencies.

Do I Have to Register with a GCA-Approved Agency?
