If you are looking for teaching employment within the East Midlands, you have come to the right supply agency. We specialise in job opportunities for Teachers, Instructors and Support Staff. Working with us gives you the opportunity to earn vital experience and to have a choice of work in the local area.
If you qualified as a Teacher inside the European Union, mobility laws apply. This means you can access teaching positions in the same way as UK trained Teachers.
If you qualified as a Teacher overseas, and outside the European Economic Area (EEA), you may be eligible to work in England as a temporary, unqualified Teacher for up to four years while you achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). Currently, this programme is only available in England.
Since 2001, there has been a rule that Overseas Trained Teachers (OTT) could only teach here for four calendar years. People in training at the end of their four years: From 1 September 2008, OTTs who have not obtained QTS within four years will not be allowed to continue teaching beyond four years even if they are undertaking employment based training leading to QTS. Please refer to the following advice issued by DfE - ADVICE ON OTT.
Instructors: Schools who wish to employ OTTs who have not obtained QTS within four years as Instructors, may do so providing they satisfy the statutory requirements for employing Instructors and have the Head Teacher’s consent – namely that there is no qualified Teacher (or person on employment based training) available to fill it. They should not simply reclassify former Teachers as Instructors. This is a continuation of the existing provision.
